About Izak
Currently I am teaching courses on religion and peace such as Religion and Conflict Resolution, Theology of Religions, Introduction to Islam, Progressive Christian Mission, etc., at Faculty of Theology, Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga, Indonesia. Besides teaching, I am interested in doing research and training on religion and peacebuilding. Therefore I am joining Satya Wacana Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Center for the of Indigenous Religion, and Center for Religion and Conflict Studies. In addition, along with my Muslim friends I am conducting Salatiga Interreligious Forum for Social Solidarity which is mainly discussing and promoting religious mutual relationship in Indonesia, especially in Salatiga.
I was born Moluccan from Eduard Lattu and Cornelia Sialla, and as Moluccan I had experienced the most worst religious conflict in the history of Indonesia including Moluccas (see my article on In search of a Religious Mutual Relationship in Moluccas-Indonesia). Religious conflict in Moluccas mirrors a real violent face of religion that has to be turn into a smile face by taking a mutual relationship of religion.
My conflict experience as well as Indonesia plural horizon inspires me to think about my future study in this prominent area. Hence, now I am preparing my self to pursue my PhD program in Religion and Conflict. Hopefully it would be very soon.
